Twelve Apostles Football Event

Twelve Apostles Football Event

Fortunate times sprang on nine Year 6 pupils from X11 Apostles as they were given the opportunity to participate in an inter-schools football event. The tournament took place at Leigh Sports village where the footballers competed against 39 other schools and these were grouped into pitches holding five or six teams.

The first game involved great possession, but the end score was 0-0. The second game involved many phenomenal saves by the no.1 goalkeeper of XII Apostles. Unfortunately, the score ended at     1 – 0 to the opponents.

In the third game, each team took many fantastic shots and the score ended in 1 – 1. The final game ended up a one sided affair as the score finished 4 – 0 to the opposition. The nine children didn’t make it to the round 18 so instead played three friendlies J.

A good time was shared by all teams and the teams will only improve and get better experience in the future. Behind the scenes, training on a weekly basis will continue…….
