Stoller Hall
The children from Y3 went to Stoller Hall and watched Big Band Bom, were they listened to jazz and pop music around the world, learned about instruments and listened to inspiring songs by Cheetham music school.
World Book Day
We celebrated this special day by coming dressed as a book character and taking part in different activities during the day, including a whole class 'reading buddy' session in the hall where the o,der children read to the younger ones. We also held a book 'diorama' competition and the winner from each class recieved a book as a prize.
Pennington Flash Orienteering
On Thursday 12th February, Year 3 enjoyed an exciting orienteering trip to Pennington Flash. The children had a wonderful time exploring the park and taking part in a range of team challenges. Throughout the day, they developed valuable skills including map reading, problem-solving, teamwork and communication, while building confidence in the outdoors. It was a fantastic opportunity to combine learning with fresh air and adventure, and the children represented the school brilliantly.
Mental Health Week
As we do every year, the whole school celebrated Mental Health Week. From a whole school conga for Cafod, learning a new dance together, team building and problem solving with the Leigh leopards foundation to taking part in activities about the five ways to well-being.
Careers in Ophthalmology
We had a special visitor, Mrs Stephen, who came to speak to us about careers in ophthalmology. She talked about her own career, what she had to do in her job and what skills were needed to work with eyes. It was great fun!
